Arla skyr

POTS OF ENERGY

Whilst working at Immediate Media, I worked on a pitch to Arla who wanted to showcase their new ‘Skyr’ range. I drew inspiration from Arla’s Icelandic heritage to shape the creative direction. Having visited Iceland myself, I had first-hand experience of Iceland’s activities and unique daylight cycles, where winter brings just four hours of daylight. This inspired the idea for small yet nutritionally powerful meals to help you power through the day, no matter the time of year.

Building on Arla’s promise that Skyr delivers “Icelandic strength”, I imagined the activities you might experience in Iceland, such as skiing, cycling, hot spring swimming, and rock climbing. This concept highlighted how even a small serving of Arla Skyr can invigorate you with the energy and strength needed to take on these adventures.

To bring this to life in both photography and video content, working alongside award-winning photographer Lauren Mclean, food stylist Ellie Jarvis, and props extraordinare Rebecca Newport, we used miniature figurines performing these activities, which transformed the food itself into the Icelandic environment. Peaks of Skyr became mountains to climb, and pools of Skyr turned into hot springs to swim in. This playful visual approach showcased both the nutritional power and the adventurous spirit that Skyr embodies.
