Serving up mischief

In Autumn 2024, our team collaborated with design studio Keane to rebrand Proud Mary UK into Bonnie Rogues Pub. The goal was to retain the character of a traditional pub while adding a modern twist. We focused on preserving the cultural roots of Scottish, Irish, and British pubs. Keane developed the logo and initial brand guidelines, and I provided creative direction on how the branding would be applied across multiple design channels.

The visual style drew inspiration from classic pub design, combined with contemporary and playful elements. This included hand-drawn sketch flourishes, tattooed statues, and distinctive patterns that gave the brand its unique personality.

Over the course of three weeks, I created a comprehensive suite of launch assets to support the brand transition. These included out-of-home advertising, flyers, posters, drink vouchers, competition campaigns, menus, event artwork, website assets, uniforms, merchandise, glassware, food wraps, social media content, exterior A-boards, awnings, and interior digital screen designs.

As the project developed, I worked closely with Midweight Designer Kai Packwood to build out the brand further. Together, we produced a range of consistent artworks that embodied the tagline “Traditional with a twist.”
